Website Maintenance

Your website, looked after every single month.

Most websites break, slow down, or get hacked because nobody’s watching. I make sure yours never becomes that cautionary story.

About this service

What this actually means for you

A website isn’t a one-time project — it’s a living thing that needs regular attention. WordPress updates, plugin conflicts, security patches, server issues — these things happen, and when they do they can take your site offline, slow it to a crawl, or leave it vulnerable. Most business owners don’t find out until a client tells them.

My maintenance retainer is how I make sure that never happens to you. Every month I run through a full checklist: updates, backups, security scans, uptime checks, and any minor content changes you need. You get a monthly summary of what was done, and I’m available if anything urgent comes up in between.

What's Included

Everything covered, nothing hidden

Here’s exactly what I work through for every client who books this service.

Monthly core & plugin updates

WordPress core, themes, and all plugins updated and tested so nothing breaks after an update.

Weekly offsite backups

Full backups stored in a separate location — if the worst happens, your site can be fully restored.

Security & malware monitoring

Regular scans, login protection, and firewall rules to keep your site clean and safe.

Uptime monitoring

I'm alerted the moment your site goes down so I can act before your clients notice.

Content edits (up to 2 hrs/month)

Text changes, image swaps, page updates — small things that pile up if you have nobody to ask.

Monthly summary report

A plain-language email each month covering what was done, your site's health, and anything to flag.

How we work together

Simple process, clear communication

I keep things straightforward. No confusing jargon, no chasing for updates — just a clear process from start to finish.

01: Initial site audit
Before I take over maintenance, I review your site’s current state — plugins, speed, security, and backups. I’ll flag anything that needs fixing first.

02: Setup & baseline
I configure monitoring, backups, and security tools so everything is in place before the first maintenance run.

03: Monthly maintenance cycle
Each month I work through the full checklist — updates, scans, backups, and any edits you’ve sent through.

04: Monthly report to you
I send you a short summary of what was done, the current health of your site, and anything I recommend addressing.

FAQ

Questions I get asked a lot

Honest answers to the things most clients want to know before reaching out.

No. I can take over maintenance on any existing WordPress website. I’ll do a one-time audit first to understand the current setup and flag anything that needs addressing before I start.
I’ll let you know before going over your included hours. Additional time is billed at a discounted rate for retainer clients — never a surprise.
Yes. There’s no lock-in. Just let me know 14 days before your next billing date and I’ll wind down the retainer cleanly.
Uptime monitoring alerts me immediately regardless of time. I aim to have critical issues resolved the same day, even on weekends.
